Intro: Bowling Ball of Smoke

There’s a darkness
that’s following me
like a bowling ball of smoke

I Was Wrong

I was wrong
Oh, so wrong
I didn’t know what I’d found
until it was gone
I was wrong

I laid down my head
on your pillow
You came down beside me
after a while
Did I ever think I could do better?

I was wrong
Oh, so wrong
I didn’t know what I’d found
until it was gone
I was wrong

They said you were loud
great fun at parties
You took off your t-shirt
then the make up
I couldn’t believe you cared for me

I was wrong
Oh, so wrong
I didn’t know what I’d found
until it was gone

Oh, so wrong
Oh, so wrong
I didn’t know what I’d found
until it was gone

I was wrong
I was wrong

People are Sweet

I’m checking out
Got a big black plastic bag
It doesn’t amount to much
boxers, t-shirts and a toothbrush

The times we watched the box
with the sound turned off
But the drugs don’t work
Lost in space with Captain Kirk

So sweet
when you’re down and out
We meet
we don’t say goodbyes
So sweet
when you’re down and out
with kind words to strangers

We lie and we cheat
Try to do our best
People are sweet
People are sweet

Breakfast, supper or lunch
It’s always the same
Of all the things that I might miss
the cups of coffee or the evening
quizz

So sweet
when you’re down and out
We meet
we don’t say goodbyes
So sweet
when you’re down and out
with kind words to strangers

We lie and we cheat
Try to do our best
People are sweet
People are sweet

People are sweet

It All Comes Back

I told the psychiatrist
about the trip
Places that I’ve been to
sunsets that I’ve seen

Wonderfully mysterious
dark and dangerous too
All in the same mind
be hateful or kind

It all comes back
just a little closer
It all comes back to me
now
It all comes back
just a little closer
It all comes back to me
somehow

There are coffee-stains on my papers
I don’t need them anyway
You always I said; I was too late
Now I’m there at ten to eight

It all comes back
just a little closer
It all comes back to me
now
It all comes back
just a little closer
It all comes back to me
somehow

It all comes back
It all comes back

The Kraken

Eight arms that pull you down
and tear you limb from limb
A giant octopus or a squid
It’s been around you
since you were a kid

Who will live to tell?
Who will live to tell?
There’s a kraken in the sea
There’s a kraken
beneath you and me

If you look up towards the light
from the darkness that is here
When you’re tied to the mast
and the ship is sinking fast

Who will live to tell?
Who will live to tell?
There’s a kraken in the sea
There’s a kraken
beneath you and me

Deep down below the surface
I know it’s always there
It follows in the deep
The secrets that you keep

Who will live to tell?
Who will live to tell?
There’s a kraken in the sea
There’s a kraken
beneath you and me

From Peking House To Casino

Kids on tricycles
in front of the stage
Adjusting the mouthpiece
The band begins to play

Echoing off nights before
floating in the stairs
From Peking House to Casino
Don’t tell me I was there
I was there?

Saturday, groundhog day
Meeting friends at three
Catching the bull at four
Paradoxes at the door

Julie and her two new friends
are trying on new clothes
They’re dressing up just for fun
Playing little games
Little games

Saturday, groundhog day
Meeting friends at three
Album-Covers, gatefold sleeves
Confusion can deceive

It’s saturday, sweet saturday
Saturday afternoons
It’s saturday, sweet saturday
Saturday, more or less

It’s saturday, sweet saturday
dark and bittersweet
It’s saturday, sweet saturday
Saturday anyway
It’s saturday, sweet saturday
dark and bittersweet
It’s saturday, sweet saturday
Saturday anyway

Interlude: Into Oblivion

Keep on talking about a time that’s gone
You keep on talking about a time that’s gone
You keep on talking about a time that’s gone
Into oblivion

Strong like Summer

We were talking
about the young woman
that I knew
that I knew
I used to think a part of me
where she lived
was broken in two

She was strong
like summer
and she left
with the early morning dew

She was strong
like summer
and she left
with the early morning dew

We were talking
about the young woman
that I knew
that I knew
I held on to the blame
when there was nothing more
I could do

She was strong
like summer
and she left
with the early morning dew

She was strong
like summer
and she left
with the early morning dew

We were talking
about the young woman
in a way i never I did before
We were talking
about the young woman
in a way i never I did before

She was strong
like summer
and she left
with the early morning dew

She was fragile
like a flower
She was rooted to the earth

Everything Must Go

I have nothing to declare
but plenty to admit
For what it’s worth
I saw a cornflake-box guitar

I’ve slept in a squatters den
with kids from all over the world
And why, did it feel so cold?

Align the stars
Jupiter with Mars
Every day I find
Every day I look behind me
Look behind me

Singing in the nightclub
Lynne gave me her card
It was a promise
for so much more

Align the stars
Jupiter with Mars
Every day I find
Every day I look behind me
Look behind me

The floor was sticky
How I loved the atmosphere
When I was running up
Running up
Running up the stairs

Align the stars
Jupiter with Mars
Everything must go
Tottenham Court Road

I met her on the train
before traveling on
I only knew it
when she was gone

Align the stars
Jupiter with Mars
Everything must go
Everything must go
Everything must go
Everything must go
Everything must go
Tottenham Court Road

Wondrous Sound

It’s a wondrous sound
wondrous sound
There in us all
wondrous sound

The humming tone
soft or loud
The sound that I hear
in all I perceive
And so I bow to Shiva
Om Namah Shivaya

The revealing grace
of all that we are
The silence within
The songs that I sing
The songs that I sing
The songs that I sing
The songs that I sing

I will get you out of here
A sign at the edge
of the horizon
That’s what the captain said
It’s all grist for the mill
For the mill

When there was no sky
Everything still exists
There in us all
wondrous sound

Irrelevant Precise

From the eye of the hurricane
to the wind, storm and rain
When there’s nowhere to hide
No closed doors or shelters
You’ll find me at peace

Close all of your books
You gave more than you took
When there’s nowhere to hide
No closed doors or shelters
Get on your bike
Get on your bike
Get on your bike and ride

Was it irrelevant precise
or only sounding nice?
But you’ll find me
Yes, you’ll find me at peace

Tune In

Tune in Sat Nam
Rest in natural great peace
That’s where you are

Tune in Sat Nam
Rest in natural great peace
That’s where you are

Encoding telex messages
Encoding telex messages
when we were
the extras

Wahe Guru
The teacher within
Rest in natural great peace
That’s where you are

Encoding telex messages
Encoding telex messages
when we were
the extras

Don’t wanna be forsaken
I dont wanna be lost
Don’t wanna be mistaken
for someone that I’m not
That I’m not

Tune in Sat Nam
Rest in natural great peace
That’s who you are

Who
We
Are

The Kraken (slight return)

And I’m tied to the mast
but the ship is sinking fast
A giant octopus or a squid
It’s been around me since I was a kid

Story

This is the rock-band album. At times, I wanted to call the music «prop», like a gumbo of progressive rock and pop. But I don’t know. You can call it whatever you like.

The songs were tracked live in the studio, going for a unified band sound this time around, even rocking out slightly. Great playing, and amazing vocals from the wonderful Annette Gil!

Why should I seek more?
I am the same as he.
His essence speaks through me.
I have been looking for myself
